Service Description
How to make your own soap at home using the cold process soap making method. A step by step guide for beginners. You will need to purchase the equipment and materials prior to class, if you don't already have a set up. The kit we should all be using is called "Exfoliating Handmade Soap Kit" at Brambelberry.com. It comes complete with everything you will need to make soap, except for a couple of inexpensive things you can purchase locally: 1) Distilled Water 2) A measuring cup to measure your lye crystals into. It doesn't need to be very big. A standard 2 cup should be fine. You can easily find these are The Dollar Tree, Walmart, Family Dollar etc. (plastic code #5 for plastic) 3) Something to protect your surface. I use Dollar Tree tablecloths. You can also use freezer paper https://www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-craft/soap-making/cold-process/kits/exfoliating-handmade-soap-kit---complete-kit/V700023.html?cgid=4-kits_cp_soap_craft#start=1 **DO NOT USE THE SAME ITEMS FOR SOAP THAT YOU USE FOR YOUR HOUSEHOLD** Prior to class, please make sure you read my blog post about soap safety 101 to be sure that you have everything set up: https://www.miriamswellspring.com/post/soap-safety-101-learn-what-to-wear-and-how-to-handle-soap-making-materials
